    Well this likely won't affect any boot loop problems, but might help with the SSD being recognized.

    I have no clue what the BIOS does different, but the setting must be there for a reason.

    If all else fails you might try unplugging all drives but the SSD in SATA_0, hit optimized defaults and reboot to BIOS, set everything like you need it and then reboot into Windows. Then power down and plug the rest of your drives in and see if it makes a difference
    If you select Windows 8 in the bios, a GPT disk is made instead of mbr., so I was so fed up that I did a brand new W8 install on GBT mode.
    So far I have not had the problem but I will monitor and let you all now.
