    Default Gigabyte M61P-S3

    Hi all,
First of all i am totally new to all bios editing etc.

I have recently purchased a Phenom II 965 processor and fitted it to my M61P-S3 motherboard.
I was wondering if anyone could put me in the direction of a bios that would run this processor correctly on this motherboard? I found a bios that does run, but was created for a lower Phenom x4.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Anthony

the CPU support list for that motherboard shows that CPU to be unsupported.

If you had a Phenom II X4 945, the latest bios would work.

Unfortunately I think you'll have to look at getting a newer motherboard imo. maybe somebody here may have a trick, but right now I don't see it.

    Hi Vin,
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Since posting this message, i "bit the bullet" and purchased a new motherboard with some DDR3 ram.

    Thanks,

    Anthony
