tried all new drivers (via and intel) and all usb ports... no big issue for me since i use front port for wi-fi but if someone found some final solution, it will be nice to hear/read.
    thx.

I also have this issue - I was about to reinstall windows. I will try with the drivers listed earlier in the thread.

    Here - via-labs.com/en/downloads/firmware/V2.10B_WHQL.zip

I've tried multiple drivers (whole system, not just USB) as well as multiple bios versions, multiple wireless USB adapters and even disabled sound and used external soundcards. I still get the freezing issue. Maybe the boards are just... faulty?

EDIT: Found this on a German forum - Supposedly this order helps.
    (page 4/5 of this thread: http://translate.google.com.au/trans...20%26bih%3D569 )

1 - For the time being please the BIOS if not updated to F19e update (refer to update, BIOS to load default value).
ErP disable in the bios - 2
3 - Drivers for VIA - USB: VIA USB 3.0 Driver
4 - Drivers for Intel - USB: Intel USB 3.0 Driver
5 - Drivers for Intel VGA: Intel HD Graphics Driver
6 - Intel Chipset driver: Intel INF installation / Intel Management Engine Interface (both install => just the Inf)

Reinstalled windows then the drivers with the above sequence. It seemed ok for two days but I've had two usb related freezes since.

Hello. I've got massive problems with both the VIA USB3 chip and the Intel one as well. My poor mouse keeps stopping working at random (strangely it's USB2, that shouldn't be any problem at all, since it practically doesn't use the USB3 chips), the only thing that helps is to completely wipe the drivers and reinstall them. First my VIA chip went crazy, after a few moments googling I noticed VIA published updated drivers (which Windows Update didn't notify me about), then after updating them I plugged the mouse into the Intel ports to be sure...worked till today, went off again...another googling revealed that Intel too updated their drivers quite recently, again without Windows itself making a peep about their availability. What bugs me is, the overall reason for this behavior, especially when my other USB devices work fine all the way through, all of them USB2. And, what I've noticed, when I entered safe mode, the mouse worked there nicely, so infact without any cable shuffling I managed to download the updated drivers for Intel without having to forget about using the mouse. Very strange. And it's only on this mainboard, my previous one (z77-DS3H) worked fine until I roasted it in the recent heat wave that swept over my country. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks in advance for them :)

dunno if this is relevant, but i'll let you decide yourselves - the following is pasted from the gigabyte page for this mobo:

"* Due to a Windows 7 limitation, please connect your USB device(s) to the Intel controlled USB port(s) (located below the RJ-45 LAN port) before the VIA USB 3.0 controller driver is installed."

Hi all, been having a similar issue and was wondering if there has been any resolution to this issue. Just recently reinstalled Windows, updated my BIOS and loaded the updated Intel driver and am still having problems. I've tried moving my USB equipment to the Intel ports but still seeing some issues. The VIA download site for the 4.3 XHCI driver is super slow, but I'll install that once it's done.

Am I assuming that everyone has resolved their issues? Or has everyone moved onto a new mobo? I may have to if this doesn't do the trick. I rely on a USB wifi adapter and I'm about done wasting time on this.

    Thanks!

(first time poster, trying to figure out where to add my HW info to my profile...)
