    I don't quite understand you question ..

    1MM =1:25.4=0.03939...(inch)
    1.5mm =0.059
    2MM=0.078

    Hope this helps

    Thank for the reply i have already checked Frozencpu for the thermal pad i just need the exact thickness since it comes in 0.5mm,1mm,1.5mm,2mm,2.5mm not the length or width just the thickness

    I think is you check the highs of the chips you'll find the NB to be the highest on the board. I don't have that board, but on all the P35, P45 and X58 boards I've played with, just normal TIM (Thermal Paste) is used, not an actual pad like the other chips.

    and from looking at the pic that you attached, I'd say that is still the case.

    simply wipe off what is on that section of the heatsink, and do the same for the NB (North Bridge) with a tissue (that's what I do) and if you have an aftermarket cooler laying around, you can use a very small dab on the chip. like 1/4" of a grain of rice would be a generous amount

    just so you're clear, it's not a pad, it's grease similar to Arctic Silver 5, the other VRM/SB that have that gray pad, that's an actual pad.. it odd they gave you a 1mm thickness... that's a lot of thermal grease to put on a chip.

    I would just wipe off what there and apply a 1/4 rice size of grease to the schip and re-install the heat sink... if you doupt the application thickness, remove the heatsink and verify full spread on the chip.

    if there is too much you will cause more harm than good.
