    I haven't had time to do anything today....last night I was crashing Prime 95 after about 10 minutes of 8K FFT's....that was at 4.5. Hope to do a little tweaking tonight maybe....
    For some reason I've been getting BSOD 116 when I open Firefox.....not really sure but it seems to be gpu driver related, so I've backed up to Catalyst 13.4 final but still having problems.
    Also crashed every new game I've installed just by starting so I'm pretty sure it's driver related.
    I ran my crossfired 7950's through Fire Strike with no problem so beats me...

    Eh....I'm crashing 4.5 with cpuz showing 1.272v.
    Plus I don't know if I have a bad water block mount but I was getting 10c hotter on core 0 than core 3. It was like hot > less hot > less hot > less hot across the cores. Maybe I'll try one remount before delidding to see if I can improve.....if I can get all cores to read as low as core 3 I wouldn't have to delid, at least probably for 4.5. But not sure yet what it's going to take to get stable, I have the Ring Voltage up to 1.2v...I think I had VRIN override 1.9v...LLC Extreme...Vcore 1.255v set, 1.272v by software.

    I'm getting exactly that; core 3 is 10c cooler than the others at load, at idle it's the same temp. I don't think it's a poor mount, I personally think its the TIM under the heatspreader. I'm going to delid as soon as I have enough cash to buy a replacement in case I chimp it up.

    If you do the vise and hammer method you cannt scratch the PCB and its alot easier then with razor blade.

    Jeez that looks scary!! How easy is it to remount the IHS after delidding?

    You dont really remount the IHS. It just sits on top, cpu socket/latch holds IHS on.

    I might try the vise method....but using a razor and hammer was pretty easy for me when I delidded the 3770K. In any event it's looking like my temps are leveling out a little more....could be the TIM settled in. I think I used MX4 this time....in the past time never seemed to matter much with it....

    I'm stress testing with AIDA right now at 4.5. If it goes well I'll try those crazy 8K FFT's in P95 again.....

    @boondocks
    How did you hold or support the cpu when using the hammer and razor method?
    I assume that you used a single edge safety razor blade.
