Shut down when complete and you'll have F3u again.
    You are great!!!!!!! Thanks macG32...

Works perfect. back on F3u again..

Thanks to MacG32, I can switch between the Bios versions..

Back in the F3u BIOS version I removed the acceleration ‘Intel Smart Response Technology’ (iSRT).
After that I updated to BIOS F4 again.

With the ISRT removed, all my drives were recognized.
Tried to restore the iSRT, but the Accelerate functions are grayed out now.
So no SSD caching for my hard drives anymore, pity. It worked pretty good.
Now I hear the hard drives working again..

I noticed that Gigabyte also removed the iSRT , they went back to iRSTe driver version 3.7.0.1092
and removed the ”Intel Rapid Storage Technology with Smart Response support” version 11.6 and higher incl. the Windows Hotfix for use with iRST 11.6 driver.
See there other MOBO GA-X79-UD5 where these drivers are still on the site..

I do not understand this, because the iRSTe does not support Trim for SSD in Raid 0.
And in the F4 Bios there is still the choice between iRST and RSTe….

I sincerely hope, that the next Bios update beta or not will have the iSRT back.

    RSTe supports trim.

    Hi MacG32.
I’m not going to argue with you.. But is something changed, lately?

X79 boards are seen as having server chipsets. Whatever support IRST gave X79, that isn't available anymore, from what I understand. RSTe has performed Trim in RAID 0 for quite a very long time now. RSTe v11 & v12 drivers are not for X79, so they won't work. The current X79 RSTe drivers are v3.7.3.1002. I've almost always had Trim in RAID 0 and have been using RSTe v3.* drivers the entire time. It seems a lot of people are confused about IRST, RSTe, RAID, and what does what for what chipset. Both of those articles have people that are confused.

The F4 BIOS is known to have issues and is not advised to use. The latest, most stable, and fully functioning BIOS is F4u.

I would recommend using RSTe v3.7.3.1002.

From reading what is supported in IRST, x79/C600 is not even listed on the compatibility page.

Hello, i just install RSTE and i make a speed test (whit magician samsung)

And i have a very bad result now in writing. I have only 238mo/s (before whit Irst i got 530mo/s..)

This is maybe because i have a modded bios whit RSTE rom 3.8.xxxx ?

EDIT: ok i try a benchmark whit crystal disk mark this time and whit crystal disk mark i got a good result in write.. 510mb/s.

What wrong?? A bug whit samsung magician software??

EDIT 2: AS SSD benchmarking give me too a bad write performance.. (300MB/s). I think i will reinstall Irst dude..

EDIT 26;P: I can confirme, whit IRST i got back my 500+MB/s in write and system boot better too!

Afeter flashing with F16mod the SSD acceleration is broken. Went back to F16 official, and it's still is. I can't use my SSD as Cache anymore. Any ideas?

    RSTe doesn't support acceleration, AFAIK.
