Default Boot fails just as Windows begins to load - G1 Sniper 3

    Hey guys,

First of all, I want to say that this system was running and working fine for 4 months running Windows 7. All hardware was good and everything was running fine.
I recently did a clean install of Windows 8. It's been working fine for a while, running everything great, all is well.

Until one morning I go to power on my system, it goes through Bios and POST beep is good. But as soon as it gets to the screen where it would say "starting windows" it just does a full power off like someone hit the power switch.

I've fixed this once by taking the windows disk and running repair. Then it worked for about a week or 2 and now again this morning the same issue is back.

    Possible culprits:
    F7 bios on the motherboard
    fast start in windows 8
sata operation mode / issues with windows 8's EFI
    corrupt boot files (windows updates?)

Any help would be appreciated guys, thanks in advance.

Like Wazza recommends I'd think to try disabling fast boot, the try another SATA port then another SATA Cable. Make sure the SSD Power cable is properly seated...

Have you done any Windows Updates in the last few days? You may want to consider rolling the system back. but try the HW first.

Have you done the obvious things like check is cpu fan is running or heatsink not full of dust?
