    Exclamation GB Z77X-UD5H rev1.1 Post/Boot problems.

Ok guys I seriously need your help because my patience is over. I had enough. 4+ months of nothing but nightmares with it but I called it a day a few days ago. I gave GB the benefit of doubt and I waited and waited but its over.

I'm talking about my Z77-UD5H rev1.1 problems and inability to Post/Boot after a cold boot or even sleep mode. It takes from 15-30+ reboots to post IF it posts at ALL and sometimes between 5-30+minutes IF it posts at all.

My problem is similar to the videos below. Not to mention the USB 3 problems I also had. When it booted it worked fine. But now it doesn't boot at all and I'm all out of patience to wait for it. I shouldn't have going through all this anyway.

Thankfully I still had my previous Z77 UD3H around waiting to be sold, so couple days ago I took the UD5H out and put the UD3H in. Voila! All working great. No problems. Such a relief to be problem free after so many months.

Back to my problem. I tried bios from F13 to F16 all stock, I tried different RAM's, different PSU's, tried the bclk from 100.1-102. Nothing, always refuses to boot. Clearing/resetting CMOS does nothing. I'm just welcomed with the choose defaults and boot when and IF it boots. Tried also with nothing connected besides CPU/mobo cable. Nothing else. Same thing.

I really like the Z77X-UD5H hence the reason I bought it but I can't have a defective board anymore. Imagine if I hit shutdown instead of restart and I have to wait another 10-20 or even 30+ minutes to get back online IF it boots.

No post YTube videos. Other 2 in second post. I have also recorded a few of my own and will upload them to YTube later on if needed.

Can anyone help out here? I'm not willing to have a 200euros worth motherboard to be used as a newspaper weight.

And I this might looks like a bashing but its NOT. We can't always be problem free. This situations happens. Companies should be with you with in goods situations and in bad ones too.

I wish my motherboard was working perfectly and I could go around in forums and friends and praise the UD5H which I really like, but I cannot. I really wish I could.

I don't know what to tell you except tell Gigabyte you want to send it in for repairs.
I have two Z77X-UD5H boards myself (v1.0). I have had to send both boards for repairs, although not for the problem you have. They were prompt with repairs both times.

I assume when you swapped in your other board, you put the same cpu in as was in the UD5H? If so then that eliminates cpu as problem. You might take a close look at the cpu socket pins and see if any are bent.......I got one from the factory with bent socket pins and know of several other posts on the net about the same thing.

First.....No OCZ PSU......well known problem with GB boards.
Second....POST #1 - YouTube .....no CPU socket (ATX_12V_2X4) connected with power?
Third.....to boot must be at least 1 stick of RAM (try this).
Fourth....as boondocks said...check your CPU pins.

    Yeah, same exact components. CPU/RAM/HDD's/SSD/GPU/PSU.

Stasio I really appreciate you replying man.

    1) It tried with other PSU's too. Same thing.

    2) Those problems are just similar to mine. It starts for about 2 seconds mostly and ends with a 0 code and and reboots and keeps going.

    3) Tried with 3 different sticks of RAM. Different I even mean different brands. Each time in different slot just to be sure.

    4) Fortunately no CPU pins bent when I test it with a small magnifier I have.

I'm all out of ideas here buddy... I really like that board....

    A small update:

I sold my previously mentioned Z77 UD3H I was running after I was fed up with the UD5H and now I'm stuck with this.

Since Friday morning it booted only 4 times.. 4 TIMES! I had sleep enable the first time(forgot to disable it) and it went to sleep mode and never came up. That was Friday afternoon.

Second time it booted I restarted to enable XMP of my RAM and instead of restarting it shutdown and tried to boot again.. That was Saturday evening..

Third time it booted fine but again no USB were recognized. So no internet since I use a TP-Link 822n for my connection. No I "had" to shutdown. Again that was Saturday night around 10-11pm.

And finally it booted for the 4th time today(Monday around 1:30am).

And as I see it unfortunately Gigabyte doesn't wanna help and prefers that I be left with a 200euros worth defective motherboard.

If a Gigabyte rep/support wants to contact me to resolve this, please be my guest. It will be greatly appreciated.

P.S: I have 3 HDD's and a SSD on my system. I calculated with an average of 5 seconds between each failed boot, for 40 minutes straight each hour= 480 failed boots/hr. So since Friday with an average of 12 hours trying to boot, we have 3 days x 12 hours = 36 X 480 = about 17,000+/- reboots/failed posts and also added 17,000+/- a start/stop count on my HDD's.

17,000 times it tried to boot!!! You can get an idea of what I'm dealing with...

I think you have tried long enough and enough things to get this board working. I'm not sure why you say Gigabyte is not prepared to help. Have you tried to RMA the board to Gigabyte? That's what I would do.
