    For me, zero.
    I delidded a 3770K with a razor blade, did the 4770K with a vise. Occasionally you saw someone screw up with a razor, don't see how you could with a vise or heat gun unless you're completely inept.

    BUT-stuff happens sometimes!

    Do you u got any videos with ur rig in action... I'm actually gonna be building my rig in the next comin wks... Been meaning to upgrade and could use some ideas

    be carefull not to get liquid ultra on any of the line of transistors,could use a thin slither of electrical tape to cover them

    you could have used the wooden block method

    I most definitely have lower temps now boondocks. @wazza300: Yeah I could've used the wooden block method, but the idea of the IHS potentially being lost after flying across the room crossed my mind so I just went ahead and took my time using the razor method which took about an hour.

    On my 4770k I put MX4 on the surface mounted components. I only did this in case somehow the CLP managed to get on them.
