Anything it wants, whenever it wants and however it choses to do it....

I already have had about 5 dual socket motherboards over the years, and even though they've never been the fastest at everything, they've had the capability to handle every piece of software out there without even breaking a sweat, and now this one is starting life with 16 CPU cores and 32 threads, and has the ability( and I will do it eventually), to handle up to 12 cores/ 24 threads per CPU socket for a grand total of 24 cores and 48 threads with hyper threading enabled...So I can add 50% more CPU speed without even bothering to overclock anything as long as it's heavily multithreaded.....Add the 4 video cards and 64 GB of ram, as well as multiple SSD's in raid and three 27" screens that support 2560*1440, and the system will basically handle anything with ease...

Heh...I'm also putting together my older dual socket board( the EVGA SR-2) with it's 2 Xeon X5680's to join the party since even after 3+ years, it still runs everything fine and it'll use four HD7970's and has 48GB or ram for itself so she still has some kick, so it'll be another 12 cores and 24 threads added for a total count of 36 cores and 72 threads in parallel.. hulk

The scary thing is that it represents quite the evolution in less than 20 years, which was my first dual CPU setup with a pair of single core Pentium 3's running at 400Mhz, an 8MB ATI for 2d and a pair of 3Dfx voodoo 2's for gaming and 64 MB of ram total.

Imagine if the pace of evolution continues like this, and what we'll have in less than 20 years from now....I can't even imagine it.

The Wachowski Brothers imagined it. They titled their collective thoughts "The Matrix"

I'd go a step further since people were used as an energy source since nothing better was out there, but imagine if the computers got fast enough to house human intelligence directly when death of their bodies is upon them and with that, they achieve immortality.

Doctors and the need to solve all diseases is gone, which there are tons out there with no treatments or cures, there's no need for food either or sleep and the only thing that you'd need is replacing parts when they fail.

Anyhow, to go back on topic, was a decision made to have another Bios update to fix the 4 card issue and the system booting up with the displays hooked up to the first card?

After thinking it over, it doesn't make sense that it could be a driver issue, since the problem happens before any software, including windows is even loading at all and all I get is a generic windows driver for that 4th card once windows is loaded, so it's not being recognized as the same as the other 3 cards.

It's basically something between the motherboard bios and the hardware in question.

I see there's a new bios available.....Would this one solve the issue I have by any chance?

Also getting intermittent ,5 secs long, "Legacy Eprom full" messages as the system boots up...It's happened about 3 times in the past 3 weeks since it's been running.

I know it stands for erasable/programmable read only memory, but why would it should up?
