    Have I tried the quick boot option? Naw, I'm just a half-fast guy, and I don't mind waiting 25 - 35 seconds from the start of windows to the desktop. I use Boot Racer as an automatic startup program that reports the elapsed time for each boot.

    @SmOgER, nice catch on Lukes modified TjMax RealTemp program setting instead of leaving it at the normal Q6600 100o(C) setting.

    Luke needs to add to text to every screen-shot that says what TjMax value he is using. This will avoid a lot of confusion for other forum viewers.

    You're doing well Luke.

    I consider enabling Load Line Calibration a last resort.
    You might find that using slightly higher cpu vcore with LLC disabled results in lower temperatures.

    The bios selected the 2.40B memory multiplier for your 912MHz memory speed which is fine.
    Using 5-4-4-12 memory timings at this speed should be stable.
    I've been able to use 5-5-4-12 memory timings with memory speeds up to 1000MHz. YMMV.
    tRFC = 52 with 8GB of memory will be too low with memory speeds above ~1000MHz.
    The typical stable tRFC setting with 4 or 8GB of memory is usually in the 60 - 72 range at higher memory speeds, keep this in mind if you get Large FFT errors in Prime95.

    My 8GB of HyperX T1 memory has been stable up to 1080MHz and possibly up to 1104MHz with 5-5-5-15 timings. Again, YMMV.
    Keep in mind that dram voltage up to 2.20 - 2.30 is OK for your HyperX T1 memory, if needed.

    I expect that MCH Core and VTT settings will need to be significantly higher with higher overclocks.
    Try to keep VTT lower than 1.61 and MCH Core lower than 1.40 volts.

    Don't worry about testing and running with optimal memory timings for now.

    By all means run each Prime95 test for at least 5 - 6 hours to test for stability.

    My Q9550 is stable at stock speeds using:
    • bios performance enhance = Extreme (not Turbo)
    • AUTO settings for all settings in the MIT bios window

    The automatically selected memory timings are far from optimal with this setup.

    With these settings, my system completed an 18 hour Prime95 Blend test where ambient temperatures were up to ~90o(C) for most of the test.

    Correction - was doing well!

    I made the rookie error of not adjusting the power plan so my PC went to sleep only a few hours into the test

    It's great to have your continued support though!

    I haven't got much of a clue what most of the settings in the EP45-UD3P BIOS mean or even when to adjust them so I'm going to get my google on and see what I can figure out.

    I'll start another prime95 blend test with CPU-Z, HWiNFO, MemSet and RealTemp running.

    I've been out of the game a while so you'll have to keep letting me know if I forget anything :)

    My SLBBA (E0) is finally here!

    With C0 I could only archieve 4Ghz with 1.38v, this one however seems to be doing a lot better :)

    1.280v - IDLE
    1.296v (peak) - LOAD

    EIST/Speedstep DISABLED, voltage increases under load (as opposed to vdrop) thanks to load line calibration.
    Will reseat the cooler (with same vcore I'am getting higher temps than before, plus the TCase is warmer than TJunction for some reason) and try to push for more!

    Luke, it's up to you how long you want to run each Prime95 test.
    I like to run each test for at least 6 - 8 hours.
    I run the Prime95 tests in this order: Blend, Large FFT and Small FFT, but the order isn't all that important.

    I think that you will get better results reading some of the best o/c guides on the net, such as:
