Unhappy Flashed P35-DS4 v1.1 to modded BIOS, it now won't boot without graphic card

    Hello guys,
as stated in the topic, everything works fine, I flashed because of the new 3TB drive and it's now working, but I wanted to run this setup without graphic card, as it was working previously with 3x 250GB HDDs :)
So I suppose this BIOS is somehow preventing the boot - hard to say as I can't see what happens, no option to use speaker- it's just MB with memory, cpu, cooler, hdd and usb stick. Also, I can't seem to be able to flash it back to latest oficial bios (F14 atm) although I was able to qflash the P35DS4_mod2.15b itself, so I know "how-to".

    Any ideas how to:
-get it to boot without graphics card(preferred)
-get the latest oficial bios up(qflash detects usb stick as a floppy drive :( also, I don't have real 3.5" floppy anymore, for like ages :D )
    -anything else ?

Thanks a lot in advance, have a nice one
    Woody

    EDIT:
what I really meant is when I access the usb stick (it's not a no-drive error..) it's showing me the correct partition info(total/used space) but it's empty. files just in root, one FAT32 partition :( )
    Thanks

tried clearing the cmos after you've removed the graphic card?

it will reset any bios/oc settings so make a note of them beforehand

Well, I am not really sure I did. I will try to do that now. Is there a difference to using a jumper to clear cmos and removing the battery altogether ?

To be honest, I don't believe it's about BIOS settings anymore. When I had a old, original F4 bios, it was just solved by setting "halt on" on no errors and it would boot normally. Now it works normally, but it sort of defeats the purpose of my "low power consumption quiet server" setup :/ Also, do you have any ideas, what might be happening while the graphics card is not plugged into PCIe ? Is there a warning press F1 ? (I tried that too, to press it while it was running without a card)

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me

you see a warning f1 message with no graphics card installed? are you able to enter the bios? if so makesure you set the onboard graphics as first display/save/exit

wow.. I am sorry, I will try to clarify :)
P35 - it does not have dual bios ( I am not rly comfortable with shorting pins on the dual bios chips :/), it IS running fine >with< graphics card, I can see bios, I can set w/e I want, it boots afterwards. I would like to achieve the same functionality >without< a graphics card :) Frankly, as it was previously with official F4 bios, now it started to misbehave on P35DS4_mod2.15b

Also, when entering qflash ( be it a F8 from bios or "end" from boot screen) I only see floppy drive A, when opened it shows ".." (to go folder up) and nothing else, even though it's properly formatted and so on (I flashed the F15b like this, after all)

So my goal is go back a bios version and use only 2TB drives or get it to work without graphics card (preferred) but the graphics card has to go out.
    Thanks for your time

yeah I understand that,i just wondered if you saw the f1 message without the graphic card and if you could access the bios without graphic card?

you could also try the latest version of @bios to flash previous bios?

it could be an issue with the board not detecting the onboard graphics ect

ok, another feature of P35 is not having an onboard graphics card, so I am not able to see "F1 to skip error" I presume, I meant that I just tried to press F1 in case it was there :) (while not having GC plugged in ofc)

So basically it's either "it's plugged and it's 100% cool" or "it's not and I don't know what to do, b/c I don't know what is the problem.." pretty cool, right ? :)

I was not thinking about @bios, b/c this is supposed to be a NAS, thus not having windows or @bios for that matter, not talking about it's considered not safe I believe.

I was also thinking about unplugging the GC after it's all booted up but I didn't have balls in all my PC years to do that and I don't feel fine doing it now :)

    oh its a nas

now I understand, but idk how youd get it to boot without a graphic card, you could try clearing the cmos/battery removal

it could just be down to the newer bios not allowing pc to boot without a gpu

    exactly my thoughts, yes :)
My friend just offered me to "trade" my P35-w/e with his Motherboards - P5Q-E.
Mine works fine with a gpu, which is what he wants for his BTC mining and this new P45 might be able to handle this better. Or it just may be the same, only newer :)
Able to handle 3TB, whilst not running without a GPU :/
