Default ga-p67a-d3-b3 turns on and off

used my older ga-p67a-d3-b3 board to convert a amd machine to intel.

put my old 2600 processer in it.

    16gb of ram.

    corsair 750 power supply

    first thing.

I had to order a replacement board because I bent and snapped the pins on the cpu socket . and I didnt find out until I turned the machine on and it kept turning off before post and found out about the pins.

the replacement is the same model.

I bench tested the board this time before putting it in the case and it worked great. and I kept the cpu in and the memory in while I installed it in the case.

and did the same off and on crap.

took it to the bench to test again and it did it a couple times. I blew on the board as my parents cat hair got on the board and then it started working.

I put it back in case and it worked. this was on monday.

today I got told it was turning off and on again.

    so Im looking at it..

went and remounted the cpu and cooler.

    another thing

when I installed the board I found out the case didnt have a stand off hole for the screw hole next to the 24 pin cable..dont know if that matters.

removed memory and reinserted and it worked.

dont know why it worked, because this was done before and it didnt fix the problem.

the system is working again for now.no problems turning on. I dont know if it will happen again,

I can rule out the psu because a different psu is used when bench testing.
and the psu had no problem with the amd hardware
i dont know what the hells going on with this board. but im really thinking about putting the amd stuff back in. plus that fact I cant afford a cpu at this time.

can be down to a short on the case/board

and also due to the motherboard flexing,it can fracture the tiny copper traces inside the boards pcb,and give you an intermittent on/off issue, just see how it goes over the next few days ect, aslong as you don't disturb or move the pc around it should run fine
