    Default Gigabyte 280x Rev2 artifacting

    Hi,
My Gigabyte Windforce 280x GV-R928XOC-3GD REV2 graphic card is artifacting in games and out of games, in desktop.

I RMAed it once and the same card was returned with Gigabyte stating no artifacting after several hours of stress testing.
The 2nd RMA was a replacement card and I still get artifacting in and out of games.

I tried underclocking the memory by 100MHz and core by 50MHz.
Updating / using beta ATI drivers did not help.
    Reformatting did not help either.
Temperature does not seem to be the issue as the case has adequate cooling and the ambient temps a great. (Plus I used drastic underclocking)
    Edit: Overnight memtest.
    Edit: Few hours of prime95.

    Any help would be appreciated.

how long does it take to start artifacting? right away or a few minutes/hours ect

if its doing it right away in the bios then it can only be gpu related usually gpu memory,if its doing it only in windows/gaming ect then it could be driver or windows driver idk

any bios switch on those cards? could try with the other bios position

1st card was random. It could take a few minutes to a few hours to artifact.

2nd replacement card initially had the same symptoms, but now crashes my computer quickly.
I don't see artifacting anymore, it just does the following:
Screen/computer locks up, displaying a blue screen with vertical white lines or black screen.
Computer will not boot into Windows 7. It is blank and non response after the Windows 7 logo.

Bios has a NB PCI express setting with Gen 1, 2, 3, Auto.
Today I could not boot into windows with Gen 3, but Gen 1 worked.
    Computer crashed within 30 minutes.
I was able to boot into windows a few more times with it crashing within 3 minutes, but now no dice.
Currently I only get the blank screen after the windows logo regardless of NB PCI-E setting. So I stopped diagnosing today.

Bios switch on video card gives me the same bios version. Both have same issues.

I was able to idle in bios for 9 hours overnight without issues. I guess that is something.

I forgot the card had issues booting into windows. I gave up diagnosing it a couple weeks ago after not finding a solution and a drought in gaming.

Yep, after the format all the newest drivers were installed. (chipset, lan, audio, usb, etc.)
    Latest mb bios.
Tried both stable and beta catalyst drivers w/ clean in between.
