3 hours of non-stop Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, no issues. I am very happy with this result... except issues with TM2 but I'll just assume the game is to blame.

Maybe you need a bit more voltage to OC higher but use 2.00D or 2.40B SMM. the P45 itself can OC over 500MHz.
    Care to elaborate? :)
Is 500MHz achieved with gaming boards or regular ones? Do you think I can get stability with ~3.6GHz or ~3.8GHz?

    Here are my current settings:

Only PLL, CPU Ref, DRAM, MCH Core are manual.
You probably know it but CPU Ref's available options on BIOS changes each time FSB is changed.

Shall we go with 444 FSB to get 3.55GHz with 1066RAMs?

    And thanks for the link.

Nope, just the GA-EP45-UD3LR, and E7500 I no longer posses. I could get it to about 510 but not stable. I've never tried with this CPU, I'll try later post results if I can.
I am sure you CPU is capable to do 3.6GHz, but your cooler will not, and all this RAM may also present difficulties. Search GIGABYTE and Overclocking forums I am sure you will find something there.

Try the 3.55 but with 2.00D first, see that target vcore is not too hight or low, and what is actual vcore also, though Im not sure it is very reliable. or try 425 FSB if it fails.

444 FSB 2.00D 0.778 CPU Ref: No boot.
444 FSB 2.00D 0.762 CPU Ref: No boot.
425 FSB 2.00D 0.785 CPU Ref: No boot.
425 FSB 2.00D 0.760 CPU Ref: No boot.

:) One all short beeps, rest restarts IIRC.

My cooler is 900 grams. :) It's default CFM is 78. And I use it at only 1000RPM. And with a 6yo fan that in total ran AT LEAST 3 years non-stop, possibly 4-5. And with a few yo paste that possibly has lots of air gaps. Any better cooler is one of those monsters with 2 fans that weighs more than a kilo that costs you 100$. :) I can replace my GPU with that. :) Why can't anybody understand that? :)

I have seen 3.8GHz with a Q9400 highest, with air cooling. People OC'd Q6600 a lot but that one has a 9x multiplier or something. And dual cores are much easier to OC.

Right now with 3.21GHz (2.66D) VCore is 1.248-1.264-1.280 on idle, 1.216-1.232-1.248 on load according to CPU-Z.

Couldn't boot with 500 roughly but did with 478

    What beeps exactly?
    GIGABYTE - Support - FAQs

Forget the MCH ref now, try manual 1.3265v vcore, also VTT 1.22-1.24

Already said all shorts? :) There is no description for all short beeps. It is a lot, if you are really curious. Forget how? Set auto? Cuz it keeps changing...

    Will try those.

No post with 444 FSB 2.0D 1.3250/1.33125v CPU VCore 1.22/1.24 VTT (I set Cpu reference to auto, Mch core 1.26)

No post with 425 FSB 2.0D 1.33125v CPU VCore 1.24 VTT

When I had 4GB RAMs I was able to boot with 3.6GHz at auto voltages. But apparently (from one of my posts years ago somewhere) at 3.6GHz auto was setting it to 1.36v. Now I'm not especially suggesting we should try that. Just stating facts. I'd rather stay low on VCore voltage. But I don't know what's needed.

I saw your GFlops at stock and didn't like them much.
If you care to make a little experiment, set FSB 333 vcore auto, SMM 3.20B tRD 7 (rest of settings as they are now) and run one loop of LinX with 4GB, then set vcore manually to 1.3125 and do it again, see if there is a significant difference in GFlops.
Minimize HWiNFO to minimize it's CPU usage.
Looks like there is quite a drop of of vcore, maybe this is a problem.

    I was with you until I read 4GB. :(

    What is your suspicion?

I can do LinX with this set-up. Can't we just estimate GFlops I should be having?

BTW that was for only 3.6GHz. At 3.2 which I used all the time with 4GB RAMs was not that high, probably the same as now, if my memory serves me right.

How much RAM should I choose in LinX? Is it OK to keep it low?

4095MB = 4GB, memory for LinX to use, and one loob only no need to run 10, just make sure the computer is at idle no other program runnuing but HWiNFO.
I suspect vcore is a bit low.
No don't do it with current settings, I want it at CPU stock, memory can be 1066.
At stock you GFlops need to be 30-32.

I forgot to take SS of HWINFO at auto. Do you want me to do it again?
