How about now? I turned off EIST and C1E and this is the result.

    Much better!

Your peak GFlops score went from 25.4774 to 31.7848, which is an increase of about 25%.
Your latest scores were also much closer to each other, which is also an improvement.

Do you think turning on EIST and C1E can effect gaming performance or is it benchmark-only?

I'll do some more Prime testing before I go to sleep tonight, there isn't anything else for me to do before that, right? :p

I always have Thermal Monitoring, EIST and C1E enabled.
Several years ago I was doing a lot of video card benchmarking with my cpu and graphics card(s) overclocked and never had any negative effects with EIST and CiE enabled. Thermal monitoring is a safety feature and does not have any negative effects on your system's performance.

Prime95 is not a benchmark but if some of your cpu cores are not all being used fully, the results at the end of a long test might look something like this when you stop the test:
    Worker #1 Torture test completed 338 test in 8 hours, 9 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    Worker #2 Torture test completed 327 test in 8 hours, 9 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    Worker #3 Torture test completed 204 test in 8 hours, 9 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    Worker #4 Torture test completed 225 test in 8 hours, 9 minutes - 0 errors, 0 warnings.

I've had results like these a few times when I didn't notice that two of the HWiNFO's Core # Clock values were much lower than the two cores that were running at 100%.
The screen-shot sensor's results in post #30 also show the the Core #2 and #3 temperatures were noticeably lower than the harder working threads.

Once in a while I forget to double check the HWiNFO sensor readings shortly after I've started a stress test.
Running an extended stress test where all of the cores are not fully used is a waste of our time.

Yup, it's time to do the extended stress testing to verify that your system is very stable.

Don't forget that it's also important for you to stress your system by running your most demanding video games for long periods of time.

Running demanding video benchmarks as you overclock your system provides useful information too.

    Large FFT:

This is within acceptable range I hope?

By the way is my Blend result in post #26 valid? I checked a previous result and didn't seem much different than this latest one, made me think Blend could also be fine.

Your Prime95 Blend and Large FFT tests completed with no errors so both results are valid.

The only issue I have is that we have no idea what your settings were with each test.
My approach is the exact opposite where I tend to provide too much information.
In my attached screen-shot anyone can clearly see a lot of information about my system during the test and if there were any warning flags.
If you haven't guessed by now, it's obvious that I find the HWiNFO sensor display very useful.

In other overclocking threads I can often point out possible problems when they provide detailed information about their tests.

So I don't need to do them again?

Reason I only post test/benchmark results is because you already know my settings and after disabling EIST and C1E I didn't think there was anything to show via HWINFO, voltages and whatnot.

I am generally comfortable with my temps so I don't feel the need to show them. And AFAIK I can show you my voltages on load after a few minutes of any testing/benchmarking.

I was actually going to add HWINFO next to it but I couldn't find it installed at that time and decided not to. I just redownloaded it, I'll add it in the future.

It's much easier if we don't have to go scrolling back through the thread if we need to confirm what settings you are using.

All too often in threads a "minor change" is made in the settings or in the hardware but this information isn't posted because it doesn't seem to be significant.
An example of this is if you decided to move two or more of your memory modules to different memory slots.
Can something as trivial as this make a difference?
Maybe if will or maybe it won't.

    Okay.

By the way, I haven't changed HPET mode to 64 bit to stay as default as possible, should I? I thought this might affect performance we're seeing on LinX.

H.P.E.T. = High Precision Event Timer and this implies that it should help performance when properly enabled.

Before I first installed win7 x64 on my systems, I first enabled HPET 64 bit mode in the bios.
I've never had any issues, performance or otherwise with HPET properly enabled in any of my systems.
I've run across various posts on the web that dealt with alleged HPET 64 bit problems but none of them applied to my systems.

When I'm looking for solid win7 advice, my first stop and often the last stop is the Windows 7 Help Forums at sevenforums.com
