When I perform benchmarks, I boot my system and let it idle at the desktop for 15 minutes for everything to settle down. During this waiting time I create my screen-shot but don't start any other programs. Doing this results in more consistent benchmarks.

On a few occasions I boot using Safe Mode so that my systems has minimal programs and services running.
Normally my 3.655GHz LinX results are 49 GFlops.
The results below are when LinX was run in Safe Mode.

This is when Firefox was open replacement for latest MaxxMem. Guess it doesn't make a difference.

But I am not sure what else was affecting #43 one. For example for latest SS I saw some weird CPU usage from unexpected programs because it was booted a few minutes ago. I don't recall exact conditions on post #43.

It's possible that background programs might have started up, such as scheduled virus scanning or other background maintenance programs or services.

Yeah I figured it after that. I actually was aware of this for the entire time but I didn't take into consideration the way modern programs run. These days everything tends to use CPU, and sometimes a lot. I simply underestimated them. Won't be happening again.

    Anything else before Prime 95?

You should rearrange the Prime95 worker windows so that all four worker windows are visible.

Why have you altered the Prime95 default test parameters?

You don't have to use the default 15 minute time to run each FFT size, but using a time that only runs 2 tests for each FFT size doesn't make sense. I've seen a few cases where the time was lowered to 10 minutes and sometimes a longer time is used.

A very knowledgeable Prime95 user sometimes chooses a custom setup for a special reason.

The default test options should look similar to one of the following setups when testing with a quad core processor:

    I didn't. I just redownloaded Prime 95 and it's the same.

I'm using a slightly older version of Prime95, ver: 27.9

I will download the latest Prime95 28.5 version this weekend and see for myself what the default settings are for each of the tests.

You should ignore "Average", I opened HWINFO at the last minute.
