Default Do not use easytune - it is a virus and will screw up your motherboard

I AM !@#$ PISSED. I lost an entire night of sleep!

Can't believe how dumb I am for giving this "overclocking utility" a try.

My system: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H with i7-4790K

Here's what happened: I installed and ran EasyTune, then clicked on the various configs, then decided to go back to 'Default'.

ONLY PROBLEM IS: DEFAULT SHOWS 1Core 4.4 GHz ???

Thought it was a bug. So I reboot and go into my bios and it now shows 4.4 GHz, when before it used to show 4.0 GHz (AS IT SHOULD). This, despite setting the CPU to 'Auto', as it always was.

So now the default is that one of my cores is 4.4 GHz, and the rest... are 4.0 GHz??? And what about the other settings... did it screw something else up that I'm unaware of??!???

Think I'm over reacting? NOW GET THIS:

THERE IS NO WAY TO GET THE BOARD BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS.

I tried reflashing and loading bios 'optimized defaults'. Nothing!

WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING, GIGABYTE HELLO ???

I'm going to RMA this stupid thing.

Uninstall EasyTune then switch to the backup BIOS and see what you get.
I've never not been able to reflash a BIOS and load optimized defaults.

On the motherboard or the CPU? Regardless, that's not the problem. See below.

    With Turbo Boost enabled:

    ** Before EasyTune fiasco **

    M.I.T. Main screen:

    BCLK 100.03 MHz:
    Memory Frequency 1600.85 MHz

    M.I.T. Current Status:

    Turbo Frequency (MHz) 4400.02
    Non-Turbo Frequencty (MHz) 4000.85

    ** After EasyTune fiasco **

    M.I.T. Main screen:

    BCLK 99.50 MHz:
    Memory Frequency 1596.65 MHz

    M.I.T. Current Status:

    Turbo Frequency (MHz) 4390.50
    Non-Turbo Frequencty (MHz) 3991.48

Turbo Boost disabled (after EasyTune fiasco):

    M.I.T. Main screen:

    BCLK 99.50 MHz:
    Memory Frequency 1596.65 MHz

    M.I.T. Current Status:

    Turbo Frequency (MHz) 3991.48
    Non-Turbo Frequencty (MHz) 3991.48

Notice the difference? Even the memory is off, albeit, slightly.

I tried the dual bios restore. It didn't work. Followed these instructions:

    Have you tried clearing CMOS?
With BCLK at 99.5 it is not a surprise that all other frequencies are off.

Yup. Nothing seems to work. There are apparantly hidden profiles that EasyTune uses? Who knows what other settings it may have changed. Already RMA'd the board. Getting an advanced replacement.
