Bah, what a load of hogwash. :) Perhaps a while ago, but nowadays things like that don't matter too much.
Actually I've run across this prob more often since these "Burn Proof" technologies were introduced than before it was. Sometimes it'll work for a while and then screw up but a lot of times it just won't. If ya want hassle free operation then the burner must be in the master position as it cannot control the IDE channel for a burn in the slave position.
