I'm having a tough time getting my XP2500+ FSB333 to actually boot as a 2500. I get a stop error every time I try to set the mem speed @ 166MHz - which is what it should be at, right? When it is @ 133MHz it runs rock solid.

Temperatures are in the low-mid 30s, so there is no problem there.

    Is there something I'm missing?

AMD uses a different rating system to others. Instead of MHz, they state what their processor compares to from other manufacturers.

your 2500+ actually runs at about 1.8ghz (not exactly sure), but is rated to a 2.5ghz...the 2100+ runs at about 1.7ghz or something.

your trying to run the system memory at 166mhz? what kind of ram do you have?

he is talking about his FSB not the clock speeds and if you'll look at his sig, it states that he is using pc2700

both the cpu and ram is designed to used the 166 (333) mhz fsb ...so my guess is the mobo is the problem

I'm not familiar with it so I don't know if it supports 166 FSB, and if it does...is the jumper (if there is one) set to accomodate 166, it could be set to 100 or 133 by default

EDIT: did a little googleing and found your mobo...I'd recomend that you check the jumper and make sure you have the latest BIOS
I've gone too far and need to move on!
