Does anyone know where to get a driver for AC97 onboard sound that works without causing ATI Catalyst graphics cards trouble. I'm sure some of you know of the troubles I'm refering to.
Someone told me a Windows driver will work but Windows XP's plug&play can't match a driver on it's own. What should I use to replace the original driver?

Have you tried the Realtek drivers? Your computer might be a VIA or Magick 1 system, but if it's AC'97 odds are Realtek made that part of the chipset. Go by -www.realtek.com.tw- and check their Downloads section and then AC'97 Codecs under Integrated Peripherals. They've been using unified drivers for awhile so you just need to choose your OS. Just make sure that the previous version drivers are completely removed first.

No guarantees that they'll work, but no problems here. (At least until I can buy a new card. :) )
