    The power button is what I use.

    FX5900 - 3DMark2001 [20,566] - 3DMark2003 [7,281] - Aquamark3 [56,694]
    Ti4400 - 3DMark2001 [16,028]

    i forgot to mention in my first post that pressing and/or holding the power button didnt do anything like it normally should. thats why i though that it was causing the problem, but it wasnt.

    Well my guess would be a defective mobo.
    And I have never blown a pc by pulling a plug.

    so what would be the best way to find out if that mobo is dead? also is it possible that its Ram or cpu related

    Inspect all the hardware closely. Look for burns on the ic chips. I am working on a machine right now and discovered a burn on an ic on the hd and also on a memory module. Both caused by a power supply though. Swap some ram from a known working machine. Try the existing ram one at a time in the other machine.

    alright now im like 95% sure that its the mobo, after all it is an ECS. anyways, i couldnt find anything burned or that looked like it was causing a problem. well guess its time for me to find a el-cheapo board to replace it. thanks for the help guys
