Thread: Why windows dont recognize my CD-RW and DVD-ROM?

    Anydoby knows why my Windows XP Pro wont recognize my CD-RW and DVD-ROM?

    I tried to check the Bios and its there recognoze by the bios, but if i log inn to windows, i can't see the icon on My Computer.

    Have ya tried uninstallin' the IDE controller that they're attached to and then restartin' Windows again? :?:

    If they are on the same IDE make sure the CDRW jumper is set to master (or master w/slave) and the DVD drive jumper is set in the slave position.

    I havent tried it yet, but i will in a min. If it still dont work, i'll post again in here.

    Yah i got them Master/Slave config right. I got the CD-RW for master and DVD-ROM as slave.
