this only happens when playing game, it could be any game. anytime during a game, the system will just restart unexpectley. as if someone had pushed the reset button. event viewer showed red flag for system , catagory (102) but that isn't helping. im stuck guys. i may have to reinstall my os and start from scratch to see what the hell is going on. any system utility will help guys, know any. what should i be looking at.

have you overclocked any part of your PC? sounds like OC pushed too far or temps too high
I've gone too far and need to move on!

used to be overclocked, but now at default.
my case is opened with additional fan cooling. i don't think it has to do with the temp at all. remember it can be anytime during a game that it just suddenly restart. u think it could be the overheating issue with the 9800 pro video card?

Double click on the red flagged error and then give us the full details of it.

Well.. I did a google search for the error you listed and it came up with http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=822563

    Disk Cluster Service Error

    But it's for Win2k

Not sure if your problem is the same with Win XP

Have you tried turning off "auto reboot" so you get the BSOD error. That might help with the diagnosis.

Run Memtest86 and if any errors result then increase the voltage to the memory by 0.1 volt.

I had the same error when I first built this system. I eventually got rid of a cheap 4 port USB card and reinstalled Windows (using the rescue method). I now only get application crashes, not system errors.

    This is better (I think...)
