So you actually read through the entire tweaking guide on www.tweakguides.com?

If so, then you may just have poorly-chosen hardware in some area... What speed RAM are you using? PC2700 can really slow down an Athlon 64 system a lot in some areas. Also, how have you gone about installing drivers? It should be in this order:
    Service Pack
    Chipset drivers
    DirectX
Video card drivers (get the latest from nVidia)
    Any other motherboard drivers
    PCI device drivers, if any
    Other drivers and software

The chipset and video drivers (along with DirectX) can really be a problem if you don't use the latest drivers and install in the right order, particularly.

SVChost is now being a problem, with its constant high cpu usage. I tried uninstalling norton internet system. The same issue comes up. Over a while i tried seing when the svchost starts going up on cpu usage. Usually when i'm ending the game ragnarok or warcraft 3 or world of warcraft, the cpu usage for this component is definately going up. I dont knwo if this helps, but anythign to solve my issue. Thankyou everyone again who is helping and trying to solve my problem.

    Thanx again

I was more concerned over the order you installed the drivers in, but... Chipset drivers aren't for yur processor. They're for your chipset. Go to the VIA website and download the latest motherboard drivers.

Now if you would read the damn guide like we've said (or at least acknowledge that you have) about four times already your problem would likely be fixed...

sorry for not acknowleding you, very sorry. I have read the guide before i came to this forum and tweaked my comp. Another pattern that i have found out, is when i finish playing games, my computer's speed slows down instantly. Even if i dont intend to look at the system performance and leave it idle for a while, the performance still slows down. If this helps in anyway I'll look into more detail, but since my other details werent as effective I will refrain from looking it into more. Yes i have updated my asus mother board drivers, and updated VIA drivers as well. The order I did was windowsupdate.com Which means the service pack comes first, then the video card drivers, then chipset then the the sound drivers then the mouse, keyboard, and other software. Sorry if I have been a bother in not telling you earlier. Thanks again Yawgmoth for continueing in helping me with my problem. I really appreciate it.

Hmm... Try posting the HijackThis log again. There must be some processthat is slowly taking power away. I can leave my computer on for days or weeks and not get any kind of the slowdown you're describing.

Also, have you read the XP services guide on www.blackviper.com? It's really worth the time to go through and disable unnecessary services. In fact, that could fix your problem as svchost represents several Windows services. Go through it and every service you have and figure out whether you need everything. It's worth taking the time, especially if it fixes your problem.

Your drivers are wrong. Chipset drivers first, than video drivers, LAN/Sound than whatever else. Also, SP2 is a worthy update.

That would be the dubm way to go about doing it...

You still have several programs that shouldn't be running. AIM, Winzip, AOL (this shouldn't be anywhere near your system to start with), the Java console, and several other Windows services. Until you deal with this stuff, you're going to have this same problem. When you reformat and reinstall everything, it will return.
