Default Needs Help with crashing issues

Hey people, I have this gay problem with my nice computer crashing while playing games.
    System Specs:
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe Mobo (nforce 2 chipset)
    AMD 2800xp (oc'd to 3200)
Thermaltake Xaser w/ 7 cooling fans
Thermaltake Cooling Tower heatsink with heatpipes
    1024 DDR2700
PNY Geforce 4 FX 5700 LE Optima
    120 gig WD 7200rpm
    60 gig Maxtor
    60 gig WD
    20 gig Seagate 7200rpm
    16x dual layer NEC dvd-rw

Nothing really brand new but it runs games really well. The problem is when I run Battlefield Vietnam it will spurratically crash, no errors or anything. When I try to run Doom 3 it will lag real hard and I'll lose video or it will crash all together. Again, no errors.
I have XP tweaked and have my graphics set to performace and all the clocks are set to default right now. So I know I'm not trying to run something at more than my computer can handle. I have all the backround processes turned off. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe to replace my mobo and cpu because I've replaced my video card 3 times.

Oh yeah, Forgot to add an almost 'brand new' thermaltake 420 watt psu. So it's not that. I've tested all the parts except the cpu and mobo. It may be the ram too, it's cheap value ram but I usually don't have problems with that. Either way I'll probably end up building a new system and buying BF2 when it comes out. Anyways, any help would be thanks. I would like to save my 32 bit system as long as possible.
(this just in) I got a visual c++ runtime error " this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information."....Lets see, EA has ass for support and they don't know. So if that error has any meaning, also let me know.

Your crashing issues have the common signature of a heat-related problem. Make sure the the heatsink is mounted properly and make sure you are using a good Thermal Interface Material (goop).

Thanks. I'll tear into that soon. I think I have a tube of goop laying around. The heatsink tower is a mother to disassemble and reassemble. I should probably invest in some ram sinks too.
