Thread: hard drive is not being recognized

Default hard drive is not being recognized

i am trying to reformat my computer which is a Dell Inspiron 8100 but after putting in the fourth disk a screen appears and says

"setup did not find any hard disk drive.

make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk related hardware configuration is correct this may involve running a manufacturer supplied diagnostic or setup program"

    any help?
