Thermal paste needs to be spread thinly (about the thicknes of tissue paper) but if you put it on to thick it will actually act as an insulator and inhibit heat transfer, also check that rear fan as I've found out plenty of times that they can be installed at the factory backwards, so if your's is then it'll be causing a buildup of hot air within the case (also you can take the side of the case off and point a deskfan into it to see if that helps).

Alright...I went out and bought a VGA card fan, another case fan (which works!!), and a PCI-E. My computer still gets hot when I run EverQuest though...Starts up at like 34 C and then it gets to about 44 C in no time when running EverQuest. It's not crashed on me yet, but I am weary about the temperature still...is that a normal temp, really, or is that truly too hot?

**Also, about the CPU & thermal paste, I am pretty sure we put an ample amount of paste on the chip and not too much...but maybe I need to reapply it sometime?

Hehe whew...Alright. It's just worrysome to see the temperature going up and stuff, but I guess you're right that others' computers get a bit warmer.

I got an e-GeForce 6500 PCI-E. It is nice and everything is like lag free & such, which is good =) I'm going to test out EverQuest and actually move around a bit in game to see if it will freeze on me again, LOL.

Haha...Well, all in all, to spend to get it fixed, it was like around $100 to $150 extra, which is a pain b/c all the other parts cost like close to $1300 for the entire system. But yes, I am glad to say that I am no longer freezing up!!! Been running around EverQuest all day today and it's great!! =)

Thanx so much for the help !!!
