NT / 2000 aren't as bad as 9x/ME. They seem to deal with it better. Still not perfect though.

My PIII system has 512MB running w/win98se...I had to reduce the memory timings to the least aggressive - but it's stable now.
It's a single 512MB dimm so I can't run with any less - I'll be switching it to XP Pro soon anyway....

what will happen if i upgrade my system memory over what it suggested. My computer is expandable to 512MB of PC800 RDRAM. Right now it's 128MB.
What if i put four(4) 256MB in both banks?
    thanks.

You can try it though I won't guarantee that it will work though, just doublin' what you already have should be more than enough with MEss anyway. :smokin:

I asked the same Question in a car site and the response included a link to the Microsuck # for what to do with over 512 RAM.
    find:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q253912
You can go in somewhere in the 9X and limit what the 9X 'sees' to anything you want under 512mb. Then you can have all you want in reality for dual boot sys.
I will find the Microsuck #s... gotta go ... found it last night but couldn't get into site, so this morning, here it is. :lips:
