Default ATI Catalyst Sapphire 4850 2 monitor crash problems

When I click to play an AVI file 720p or 1080p and while playing I drag from one monitor to another. The PC will then crash. What is the problem? Should I play first then drag over or ?? Strange. Is there anything I can do to prevent this... Monitor 1 is Main and Monitor 2 is Secondary.

Knowing what monitors you have would be helpful. Other things to consider is the resolution of both monitors. If one is a lower res (likely the secondary display device) and is not able to handle a 720 or 1080 output, this could very well be the issue. Even if both resolutions are capable of handling the output, a difference in resolution could cause the problem since the video file is being rendered to a display with one resolution and then dragged to a display with another resolution.

    Just things to consider.

Thanks so much I think that was the problem so far... I managed to change both resolution to be the same and now the problem has gone away...but then the sync is different...... oh well..
