today i installed a new motherboard in my win2k machine. the previous chipset on the motherboard was a via and now on the new one its SIS. I loaded the win2k ghost image onto it and now when i boots i get
"BOOT DEVICE INACCESSABLE" in a blue screen. it obviously doesnt liek the new IDE controller, I think.

wat i wanted to know was there any way around this or do i have to reload it all

You'll need to format or do a fresh install - Because the IDE controllers are different on the VIA and SiS chipsets, WIndows 2000 doesn't allow you to dynamically change the drivers without formatting.

Sucks, big flaw of 2k, as far as I know there's nothing you can do.

You'll prolly wanna go ahead and buy yourself Windows 2000...since that has universal support of almost all hardware after Win2k. Win2k was let out a long time ago...so they brought out Windows 2000 to make up for any bugs in Win2k.

    Glad i can help....:thumb:
