I have this CD-R of some information I backed up, it worked a few months ago and haven't used the disk since but now I try to use it in my cd-rom and I get an inaccessible error. I then tried it on my second DVD drive, same error. I went to another computer and tried it, same error.

Whats the deal? I have some very very important stuff on here and can't risk losing it.

All my other CD's work, just not this.

So there is absolutely no way to get that information back? There are no scratches/fingerprints on the back of the disc, it worked perfectly before, just not working anymore. I've keep it in a very safe room with good temperatures for awhile now.

Sometimes the chemicals which give CD's the ability to hold info breaks down suddenly for no apparent reason but once this happens then it's bin materal. ;)

It looks like the disc wasn't closed, I closed it and now it works.
