I ran 3Dmark2001SE and it only gave me 1200 3DMARKS, at 800/600 res. I use the onboard SIS 630/730 display adapter

The onboard graphics is the problem. Ge force 2 for $40 will get about 4000:thumb:

I am suprised you got that high of score.
What chipset is in that mobo. if the chipset has more bandwidth, a ati 9100 will give you triple the score than the geforce 2 for a few bucks more.

it has the Sis 730 chipset. You can use 4X agp for the slot. What do u think the onboard Geforce2 graphics engine on the EPoX EP-8RGA+ would be, because im gonna get that mobo when i find it

730 chipset not bad, the 9100 (ati 8500) will be the biggest bang for the buck upgrade.

Don't get the 8rga+??? the chipset with on-board video, you will be disappointed. get 8rda+ rev 1.2 and either the ati 9100, 9500 , 9700 (whatever you can afford). as well, check out the price comparision with the newer ati video family (9800,9600, 9200). i honestly cant help you evaluate the newer ati's since i havent sold any yet.

The nForce2 based boards use the GeForce4MX GPU set for their inbred video. But do yourself a favor and get a real video card.

i have installed ati 8500 in comps like yours.

geforce2 has compatibility problems which is probably what those guys tried to use.

if it doesnt work, take the video card back.
