    what is that tweak that makes it so the shared folders DONT show up in my network places??? anyone know??

    simple, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ and right click on Shared Documents and bring up Properties click on the 'Sharing' tab and check 'Do not share this folder'

    no special "tweak" needed ;)
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    no thats not it....i want the folder shared....but there is a tweak that disables the folders showing when u open up my network places. i have dont ie before, i jsut never saved there the folder isi foudn at int eh registry.

    here it is i found it

    Remove Shared Documents from My Computer

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateF olders]

    Delete the {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee} key under this folder.

    lol, in your first post you said you wanted to remove it from My Network Places which led me to believe you didn't want it shared...you didn't say My Computer...as you know that is 2 different things ;)

    I use TweakUI to remove it...less time than swimming though the registry

    glad you figured it out though

    If you want to share a folder and jsut not have it show up in network places -- When giving the folder a name in the "share this folder" options -- put a dollar symbol ($) as the last charicter.

    Example: gayporncollection$

    This folder would be shared -- and you can access it through the run box run: \\computername\gayporncollection$ however it will not be in network places.
