I have a cable modem coming into a Linksys router, which in turn goes to 2 PC's....running WinXP Pro on each. I have hard coded the internal IP addresses into each PC (i.e 192.168.1.101) but quite often they cannot "see" each other even though sharing is on, and sometimes cannot get to the internet. Is there a comprehensive guide that could help me? I want each PC to be able to get to the internet by itself, not relying on an ICS connection. TIA.

edit: delete that :) fiesty mood today

edit: try letting the router assign the IP's for you and make sure the XP firewall stuff is shut off on both pc's.
