    i have a website and my hosting is about to run out and was wondering if i could just host the site on my own computer? and just have the domain directed towards my pc.

    What OS?

    You will need IIS if your using Microsoft product and you can do a search for free DNS on Google.

    GOOD LUCK you will need itl...

    wow! this is interesting... Hosting your own site from your computer.

    Can i just ask 1 question? Does your computer needs to be ON all the time in order for the website to be available for viewers??

    Yeah it will have to be on at all times, which is not a problem since i never turn mine off

    Use Apache 1.3 :)

    Agreed. Although IIS has come a fair way from where it was during v4, it's still not the best solution.
