Ok, so I hooked up cable, and I bought a wireless Dlink router, and a Dlink PCI adapter for the wireless router, but I am getting horrible download speeds for cable, and web browsing is not as fast as it should be. Would a USB wireless adapter be better, or should I ditch the whole wireless????

P.S. is 11mbps enough to capture all of my cable internet's capabilities, or is it holding me back????

    Thanks.

11mbps is plenty, but noone gets the full 11mbps. So wireless might be the issue here. Best way to check is to transfer a large file between 2 computers and watch the speed.

Also, cable has a tendency to have different speed depending on how many people in the neighborhood are using it.

Well, tomorrow, I am going to move the computer to the modem, and physically connect it, and see what kind of speeds I get, and if they are much greater, I will see what to do from there.
