Thread: Adsl As A System Startup process?

    hi all,

    i was woundering would it be possable for me to run my adsl internet connection, as system service so i dont have to log in to any user?
    i use ICS on my pc to share the connection over the network, so if any one who wanted the net could simply turn on my pc and go use it at there machine.

    Im runing XP home and the others 2k

    your DSL modem might have a option to disable the need for logging in to activate your ADSL. I had to do a little stuffing around to get my SpeedTouch Home to a SpeedTouch Pro, allowing me to telnet into its inbuilt software and change a few things (such as no-dialup)

    Drag the connection shortcut to the startup in the start menu/all programs. Then it should prompt/display connecting upon reboot. Then change the properties to not promt or display while connecting. It should now do what you wanted. Needs to be a single user account computer to be totally automated at powerup.

    I have a SpeedTouch 530, how do you do all this? And what is there added bonus?

    thanks for the help guys im looking in to remotly login in 2 my modem, alto i dout it tho its a cheapass one i got with my ISP sagem F@st 800 i think.
