    Default cant network home pc's

    Hey guys,

There are two computers in my house which both connect to the internet through a router. I can't seem to get the computers connected in any sort of LAN. I would really like to be able to play some games together but Its just not happening. Both computers have xp. I run the network set up wizard and everything runs, but theres no connection. Any help is as always very appreciated.

    Couple things to consider:

    - Find out what IP addresses both computers are using
    - See if you can 'ping' from one PC to another.
    - In your network TCP/IP properties, make sure File and Printer Sharing is on

    Start > Run > CMD > ipconfig
    OR
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Network > Support

Also, what games are you trying to play?

Have the computers ping each other in CMD and post tell us what the IPs are.

Also, check the firewall like Tuxfreak said. In the Properties page for your LAN, check the Advanced tab to see if the firewall is on.
