Default Any real performance difference between 10/100 network cards for cable modem?

I am configuring a system to purchase online at cyberpowerpc.com and I can go with the "onboard 10/100" card or purchase a "Intel Pro Gigabite 10/100/1000 Network Card" for an additional $55.

Is there any difference in performance? I do online multiplayer gaming, so thats why I am concerned. I've always wondered if there was any real difference differecne between these ethernet cards with a high speed cable connection.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

There's none. There's absolutely no difference to buy an additional network cards. Besides, almost any modern motherboard will already have gigabit ethernet, so you should probably be getting a different motherboard..

If almost any modern motherboard should have a gigabit ethernet than why would you assume the one I selected didn't?
