Thread: strange prob. pls help.

  1. Default strange prob. pls help.

    Good day.
I have 3 pc's running xp hooked up to a 4port linksys wireless g router. 2 wired, one wireless. after running fine for a few months, one of the wired computers no longer accesses the net through any browser (ie, firefox). and neither can i access the router from the problem pc.

the strange part is that i can ping outside adresses. and it shows up sending/reciving under network connections. (only 120ish sent and recived)

    ive even tried switching ports..

the settings are all fine. Ive reset router, modem, computers, reinstalled adapters. NOTHING. when i do ip config. it shows the right gateway and dns. releases and renews fine....
    what could be the problem?
    maybe hard ware?
my view on the two party system...

I find that if the right(wrong) peice of spyware gets onto your hard drive, it can make firefox crap itself. I run an Anti-spyware program(Ad-Aware SE usualy) kill anything I don't like and then reboot, that has fixed all my problems of this nature. Hope this helps.
