Default problem regarding installing network contoller

    Hello All,

I have a laptop Asus f5sl. Recently I changed my windows from Vista to XP SP3. However, I can not install the network controller. I downloaded the driver for Atheros and trid to install it on my laptop. But it doesn't work.

To find the reason, I guessed that maybe LAN is not enabled in on-board devices. But, I refered to BIOS and there is no LAN in on-board devices.

    Can you help with that?

You likely bought a VIsta only laptop. Are you sure this was a XP driver you installed? Have you install the chipset drivers yet?

If there was a LAN BIOS setting, installing a new System would not change this. So that is not the reason.

Many laptops that ship with vista DO Not allow XP to be installed, and the manufacturer often does not make XP drivers available for them

Please link me to your Exact Laptop page and I will see if I can find you the correct driver you need.
