Recently reinstalled Win98se from OEM recovery disc. Tried reconnecting to network via Client for Microsoft Networks as before, but upon reboot (and all boots hence) I get a blackscreen directly after the 98 splash screen saying a device file has been deleted, listing z:vvinesd.386 (I have no idea what this is) at the bottom. It says windows might be run by pressing any key, which is the case as after hitting space bar, the z:vvinesd.386 disappears, and in about 15-20 seconds, boot up continues. All functions appear normal with the machine, and network is working (after properly renaming this computer and workgroup), but this blackscreen continues to appear every bootup. How do I get rid of it? Any help is appreciated.
