Thread: cable tweaking my uplaod and download speed

    can sumone help me out i used dr.tcp that i foudn in the broadban tweaking guide i changed the numbers applied them and reatrted my comp but my speeds are the same can sumone tell me what im doing wrong i want my download and uplaod speed higher. im using cable internet from cogeco a canada based company

    Broadband tweaking is only noticable on Windows 9x operating systems. Windows NT/2K/XP really don't show any improvement due to their better networking settings and it takes very fast broadband (out of cost range of most ppl) for these to show any improvement. Your's probably didn't show any as you are at the limit that your network can supply with the other traffic on it. ;)

    well that sucks. i told my friend about the guide and he did it and he gets like 700kb more then he use to. thx for the help

    My 98SE PC's will increase in speed dramatically with the tweaks but I've yet to see it with the XP systems here. ;)
