All of that could very well be true. They are not planing on upgradingthe lines out here. There are less than 300 homes here and most are not occupied, just vacation homes, so there is no gain for the phone company to even bother@!!

I'd settle for the ping loss as it may just be what I wind up with yet.

You should buy a mobile phone which has a GPRS function and some kind of modem to that (presuming that you have GPRS service where you live). Here in Finland you can buy a Web Box (about 350€) to your (GPRS) mobile phone, which enables a GPRS connection to the internet. Itīs speed is about 56Kbs. :p :p

Thanks Twiz....Its nice to have company down in the dumps when everyone else is talking about megazillionbit download speeds. We can continue to make sure that the net is slowed down enough for everyone to enjoy!:thumb:

I've got 512k dsl both ways.. :yuc:

But it just may change in the nearest few month to a 20 times faster line.. :lips: Anyway this one is maxed out as good as 24/7 due to ftp, and with small hdd's it requires about 6-7 discs beeing burnt every day..

Heh! I thought you americans wonīt necessarily know these new "mobile phone techics". The GPRS comes from "General Packet Radio Service". Here is a chart how the information trafficīs development will(/should) go. :) :)
