Thread: alcatel Speedtouch pro software/firmware

    Any1 with a Alcatel speedtouch pro (adsl) modem ,I upgraded the software in my modem thinking it would enable me to share files and use video in MSN but i think i got the wrong software ,Now when i go to http://10.0.0.138 to configure the modem it sais it's a alcatel 510 so i tried to swap the software but i removed the passive or (original ) software .If any1 has a speedtouch pro can tel me what version software is in there modem or better email me a copy of the passive software please.The version in it now is GV8BAA3.721 i cant remember the original but i think it was GV8BAA3.251 please can some1 confirm what version they have or send a copy thanks heaps for any effort.

    The page's subject is turning the alcatel speedtouch home into a pro, but, half way down they have the firmware for the pro. You should be able to use that. I of course am not responsible for what you do. I sould suggest calling your ISP to get it before anything.

    Although, it sounds like you inadvertedly did a good thing. The people over at broadband reports did the same thing, but on purpose. Check the thread here:

    Thanks FA-MAS your links helped ,i think i will leave the settings now as one link you posted had software for seting up the 510 and thats all i realy needed.Now all i have to do is configure it to let me use msn video chat and file transfers.Thanks again
