    Default A strange memory issues.

Hi i am new to these forums.

I have a Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L motherboard and the bios is F7.

I have 4 gigabytes of geil ddr2 value ram 800mhz and for some reason if i put one of the sticks of ram in by it selfs i get something about bios being search on the hardrive and after about 10 seconds it turns off and just repeats.

The other stick of ram does not do this however if i put both sticks in dual channel interleaved it seems to work saying i have 4 gig of ram i also get the same screen when i first put the 2 in well the last i did but never did before.

Im not sure if the ram is faulty or what?

I do not know why my message is not in the gigabyte section were i posted it?

Run memtest on each stick on its own to find out if it faulty

Like i said its a bit difficult when i can only boot up with only 1 stick in single channel one the rams needs to be in dual channel.

Which slots are you putting the memory in? 1 and 3 or 2 and 4? I can't seem to find which slots your board uses for dual channel, I'm guessing it's 1 and 3.

Anyway, get and iso of memtest, burn it on a cd and boot from it to test your ram.

Or, try your ram in another machine.
