    Default KHX8500D2/2GN Problem

    <table id="post290415" class="tborder" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr valign="top"><tr valign="top"><td class="alt1" id="td_post_290415" style="border-right: 1px solid rgb(255, 255, 255);"> <!-- icon and title --> <hr style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> Hi.

    I'm using my e8500(e0) at 3.8ghz.But i've got problems with rams.
    My rams are 4x1gb(2x2gb kit with same code) Hyperx 1066mhz.

    When i was using 2x1gb setting, i could use these rams 1200mhz(2,2v) without problem.But after doing it 4x1gb,i've faced lot of problems.

    I can't give voltage higher than +0,2 to dimms and i can't change speed to higher than 960mhz.If i do i am getting serious artifacts and windows don't boot.

    I tried 960mhz 5-5-5-15 timings but it wasn't stable(Crashed in orthos).So i am using 960mhz with 5-7-7-22 timings now

    My voltage settings here:

    cpu vcore:1,27500
    fsb overvoltage:+0,2
    mch overvoltage:+0,2(i've been told that if i use 4x1 then i should increase mch)
    ddr2 voltage:+0,2

    Am i doing something wrong?

    You were told correctly about the MCH voltage, 4*1GB modules really puts a lot of stress on the MCH/Northbridge. Try increasing the voltages some more, what is your actual FSB VTT?

    Run Memtest86+ on the modules as well to ensure you do not have a faulty module

    I am using orthos to test rams and cpu.

    I didn't get error or crash with settings which i wrote in first message.

    I am usin 4x1gb 1066 rams at 960 mhz with 5-7-7-22.But i am wondering if i could use it with better timings or speed.
    Anyway i think this settings are stable but why i wouldn't get the price that i payed for it..
