    Hay, im fairly new to the linux world, an i hav built up a red hat 9 computer an installed a cdrw drive in it, this all works, but is it possible 2 create this as a drive through windows so files can be draged into this drive and burnt 2 disc,

    if this aint possible r there any better ways i can do it, as i want the network to hav acsses to the drive while retaining the security element of not giving every body a cd rw drive.

    the client machines r running windows 2000 pro / xp home

    :shrug:

    thanks

    there are two ways...
    1) set up a samba server and use that to share the drive
    2) use webCDwriter --> http://joerghaeger.de/webCDwriter/
    read a guide here --> http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplan...orials/4439/1/
    i think webCDwriter will be an easier option.
