    Default what would be good?

recently, my computer started to give BSODs and OS file failures ( by that i mean that sometimes when starting it would say file corrupt or missing; reboot and it worked fine again) im almost sure its the ram, since memtest86 has found errors months back, but its never been any hassle til now. am i correct? and which cheap,uk-priced pc3200 (or faster) is best? my motherboard seems to run my ram at full speed whatever the fsb: there is simply a setting for 2100,2700, or 3200, and the fsb is set at 240.
    System Specs:

    1gb Corsair XMS TwinX PC3200 timings 2-3-3-6 at 400mhz
250gb Hitatchi deskstar T7K500 SATAII disk
    160gb samsung spinpoint PATA disk

yes it could be the ram, i have had the same problem before. I had 1 512mb ram in my motherboard so i bought a cheap new 512 stick from newegg. I bought the gigamram stick. I put it in and the monitor it self doesnt even turn on no responce what so ever, or it would load up and restart at windows when its loading like your problem. So i flashed the bios cmos almost same thing. it didnt work So i bought 1 gig of patriot ram it wasw expensive but that did nt work eight. All iam trying to say is that motherboards can be very picky on the type od ram and also sometimes the quality. So just find a brand that will work.
